Rare is the talent that can reimagine the poetry of the Psalms or, more broadly, of their sacred scripture. David has the immense talent to do so by looking and responding to what he sees in paintings that themselves are inspired! The poetry is accessible, a feature so important to understanding the sources; contemporary; fearless in setting down the Word yet imbued with spirit, felt emotion, even a bit of defiance here and there. The imagery is sharp, direct, rich in meaning. I can't say enough in praise. These are marvelous!
